Starlight Meadows | Jim + Kimberly

Tuesday, October 28, 2014

When I first met and talked with Kimberly, I felt like she was someone I have known for my whole life. When we first spoke to each other it was almost for an hour. She has such a warm inviting soul. We talked a lot about her upcoming wedding to a wonderful man (Jim). She kidded that they were the new Brady bunch, with her three boys and his two girls and a son. Kimberly and Jim were married out at Starlight Meadows in Burlington, North Carolina. While it was a breezy chilly day, the sky was so blue and the sun shone brilliantly over the ceremony which began in front of the back of the barn were her youngest son walking her part way down the aisle in which he handed her to her next son and then he walked her down to her eldest son. It was truly a touching moment. All of the children stood next to their mom or dad as they watched their parents say I do. Then the two separate families of 4 became a unified family of 8. It was definitely a country chic kind of day with the most beautiful decorations throughout the barn. Kimberly thought of so many neat details to make up their day and needless to say the barn looked amazing. A few of our favorites came at sunset when we put the couple out in the field of grass. Thank you to Kimberly and Jim for letting us photograph your perfect day!

The Hayloft | 2 Chicks and a Venue

Thursday, February 27, 2014

If rustic is what you are looking for the Hayloft is the place to host your wedding. Nothing states rustic than a working family farm including a two-story barn. Crystal and her staff include seating and linens for up to 100 guests but they allow up to 200 people inside the barn. Anything larger than 200 would need to add a tent in the nearby field.
From hay bales to old cars the photography options are endless here at the Hayloft. They have a custom made arbor to use as a back drop for your ceremony but we’re using it for a couple’s grand entrance to their reception this fall since their ceremony is held at a local family church. The lower level of the barn makes for a perfect cocktail hour and dance floor area. We recommend keeping your cake in the air conditioned loft. Don’t sip out on the up lighting because the beams and woodwork adds depth with the right lighting. Make sure to request their signature photo opt in the window over the barn’s front door.
There is a special room for brides to dress and relax prior to walking down the aisle. As a planner I could see several grand entrance ideas for couples to arrive in style: modernize with a fancy vintage car, tractor, hayride, golf cart for fun, old “beat-up” truck, old fashion fire truck, or a classic horse and carriage. Adding wild flowers, mason jars and burlap are just a start to create a down home inviting experience for you and your guests. This venue has so many ways to create memories for you and your family to relive over and over.

Here are some images from Katrina and Ethan's wedding day to show you the Hayloft in all it's charm!

Andrew & Erin | Willow Oaks Plantation Eden NC

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

With a background of rolling hills of trees with colors of green and a hint of fall starting to touch the leaves, blue skies and golden sun, Andrew and Erin got married at Willow Oaks Plantation in Eden. It was an emotional day that started with Erin putting on a dress that her sister in law had altered from a dress that Erin’s mother had worn the day she got married. When Erin was walking down to the ceremony site and her Grandfather got the first glimpse of her, he took her by the hand and told her how much she looked like her mother and then the two embraced, it was such a sweet moment. Many family members and friends gathered to help them celebrate their day. One special guest that Andrew and Erin couldn’t leave out was their best friend and their beloved dog Maddux, who also served as ring bearer. Here are just a few images from their day. Thanks Andrew and Erin for lettings us be a part of your day! <3 Photographers: Michelle Robinson Photography
