The Lofts at Union Square + 2 Chicks and a Venue

Thursday, June 20, 2013

We have officially fallen in love with the Lofts of Union Square and cannot wait to host an event at this amazing venue. The ideas of design are endless and it’s hard to even begin to describe the amount of options couples have with this space. While downstairs offers a complete blank slate for the more budget friendly brides trying to avoid any “plan B” options because of weather issues I would have to book all the spaces upstairs along with the “secret” additional ceremony areas and wedding party holding spaces. The windows upstairs allow this amazing lighting throughout the day and gives you the feeling you are outside without having to worry about the weather. The rental comes with beautiful chiavaris chairs and tables for up to 200 guests that will take your room décor to the next level. Upstairs there are so many rooms to take advantage of to keep your guests entertained for all night long. I love the build bar areas to offer lounge vibes, great spaces for cocktail hour or food stations for dinner, and don’t forget the extra spaces that would leave plenty of room for kids’ activities away from the adults or photo booth areas for the kids at heart. This venue is the perfect place if you want a modern twist to your design. Make sure to splurge on textured linens, lots of lighting, and very tall centerpieces to accent the already stunning architecture. Add candles and layers of flowers to soften the metals and concrete while playing up to the urban vibe. This venue it a wedding coordinator and photographer’s dream.

Romantic Duke Gardens Engagement Session | Sara and Jake

So when does an engagement session become so close to your heart? When it's your daughter and future son-in-law's, meet Sara and Jake. It is hard to believe we are only 339 days away from Sara's big day. Lots of planning and changing are going on here at the Robinson household and through the blog I will be sharing with you many stories about the events that lead up to their wedding. When Sara asked me to photograph the session at Duke Gardens, I was honored. Sara truly wanted very romantic photographs. So together we created a storyboard of images we would do and then off to Duke Gardens the three of us were. It was a perfect evening that blessed us with beautiful light and amazing sun so we could get these gorgeous sun flare photographs. Words could never express how much I love my girl, but I know the photographs do. Sara and Jake <3

Proximity Hotel Greensboro, NC | Biz & Josh

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

You know those moments when you just smile ear to ear because you're so happy? This was definitely one of those moments! Not only did we get to photograph this amazing and lovely lady, we were at an unbelievable gorgeous venue, Proximity Hotel, and it was the first time that three former brides of ours were in the wedding party. So it was great to get to see her sister Dana, and Biz's best friends, Meagan and Heather. This wedding was shot 97% photojournalist as Biz wanted only a handful of formal photographs, but the few that we did do of the Bride and Groom were simply stunning. Chris May of Big Boy Productions had everyone dancing throughout the night until the couple's grand exit. Needless to say this is one wedding that will remain close to my heart. <3

Bennett Bunn Plantation + 2 Chicks and a Venue

Thursday, June 13, 2013

Have you ever wanted to be married in your family’s back yard? If you answered yes, then 2 Chicks has got the perfect spot for you. The owners of Bennett Bunn Plantation will open their personal home and working farm for events up to as many people as you know. As a coordinator, Jenn,  would keep the guest list under a hundred to keep the intimacy factor and avoid having to rent tents and a lot of additional rentals. Their home becomes the beacon and landing area for your event. You can use their kitchen for brunch as you and your girls get ready and use their guest rooms as changing areas. Although they have a small pond and several options for ceremony sites our favorite hands down would be in the front lawn of the main house. Then use golf carts or an old fashion hayride to take all guests down to the “lodge” for cocktail hour and a dinner reception. The wraparound porch offers plenty of space for a seated meal but another option would be to add an additional tent to one of the pastures to allow all of your guests to be seated all together for a family style meal. With all the free roaming peacocks around the farm it would only make since to use greens, purples, blues with accents of silver or gold for the perfect color scheme. Due to its location as a coordinator this venue would be an awesome setting for a brunch or afternoon wedding full of yard games and memories with friends and family. They truly make your feel at home here!
