Andrew & Erin | Willow Oaks Plantation Eden NC

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

With a background of rolling hills of trees with colors of green and a hint of fall starting to touch the leaves, blue skies and golden sun, Andrew and Erin got married at Willow Oaks Plantation in Eden. It was an emotional day that started with Erin putting on a dress that her sister in law had altered from a dress that Erin’s mother had worn the day she got married. When Erin was walking down to the ceremony site and her Grandfather got the first glimpse of her, he took her by the hand and told her how much she looked like her mother and then the two embraced, it was such a sweet moment. Many family members and friends gathered to help them celebrate their day. One special guest that Andrew and Erin couldn’t leave out was their best friend and their beloved dog Maddux, who also served as ring bearer. Here are just a few images from their day. Thanks Andrew and Erin for lettings us be a part of your day! <3 Photographers: Michelle Robinson Photography

Proximity Hotel | 2 Chicks and a Venue

If you are looking for the perfect modern backdrop for your special day, then the Proximity Hotel is THE place for you and your family to create a lifetime of memories. They are probably most famous for their X’s inside circles in their upper guestroom windows. These make for amazing photos whether you are getting married here or not they will allow photographers to pay a small fee to shoot all over the Hotel including their cars out front. The Proximity Hotel offers five different rooms to host events under 36 up to 300 people. They have a small intimate garden ceremony area outside for a wedding under 50 people.
One of our favorite rooms is the Weaver Room because of all the windows and access to a small outside terrace. We loved the expertise and level of professionalism while touring this property. They include several different styles of chairs (depending on guest count), tables, soft sofa for lounge areas, and their signature taupe linens with ivory overlays, china place settings, votive candles and fresh seasonal floral centerpieces.
Please note you must use their onsite catering, but it’s so delicious you need not to look further for a menu to complement the décor and design of your event. Using the Social Lounge as a cocktail hour really gives your guests a relax vibe and sets the tone for a fun night to come. So if you are looking for a stress-free planning, give the staff at the Proximity a call because they truly handle all of the details when it comes to design and catering. Make sure to block out a ton of rooms for your guests so that the party doesn’t have to end after the reception. Several of your guests can make their way to the Hotel bar and reminisce the memories of the day over a nightcap.

Here are some photographs from Bishop's bridal session that shows of the amazing hotel:

The O'Henry Hotel | 2 Chicks and a Venue

Talk about old world charm meeting sophisticated elegance. The O’Henry Hotel of Greensboro blew us away. There are so many options it’s very hard to choose a favorite but between outdoor patio areas offering tranquil ceremony backdrops to grand formal ballrooms the O’Henry Hotel will not let you down on style or grace.
The Pavilion and Don River Cloister Garden would make for a great intimate ceremony and English Garden styled wedding reception. These two areas would also make a great location for a bridal showers, engagement party, bridesmaids’ luncheon or fun rehearsal dinner.
Looking for something a little more formal? Just head down to the Hawkins Brown Room or the Caldwell Room for a “GRAND” time. Our pick would be the Hawkins Brown Room because of its access to a private Walled Garden Terrace. However, they do not leave out really intimate gatherings either because they have a warm & cozy room that seats up to 14 guests for a private dinner that is truly a hidden gem. I can see this venue for a couple looking to “charm” their guests by making them feel welcomed the minute they arrive to O’Henry.
